Rich, round, full-bodied and balanced with a chalky finish. Dark fruit aromas and flavours; nice layering of sensual pleasure.

This winery is located on the legendary Silverado Trail. We are pretty sure that the infamous villain, Black Bart, who roamed this trail in the 1880s robbing stagecoaches, would have enjoyed the fine wines produced by Chimney Rock, as he was also known as the “gentleman bandit.” This is Chimney Rock’s best Stags Leap Cabernet since the 2005, and continues a string of successful vintages. Dry and smooth and silky in the mouth, it’s pretty tannic, but very rich, offering waves of cherry, blackberry, blueberry, cocoa and sweet cedar flavors. Absolutely delicious, wonderfully elegant, and should age well for a decade. Score: 94 Source: Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast
