Black, savoury and full-bodied with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and smoke. Pleasant tarry finish. Full-bodied to the max: brooding like Heathcliffe. Decant for 1-2 hours.

Meritage food pairings: roast lamb.

This property has a very long history of winemaking stretching back to around 1714. It has been under the direction of Jonathan and Lyn Maltus since 1994. The 2005 – a great Bordeaux vintage - possesses a lovely nose with suggestions of fennel, cedar, leather, spice, blueberry and a perfumed rose quality. Dry and very well structured and balanced with bright fruit and lovely focused cedar, acidity and tannins. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
