Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous aromas and flavours of dark berry and briar, with pressed flowers, warm spice and some fresh herb. Dynamic stuff that is better in 7-10 years. 92 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The vintage of 2013 in Columbia Valley delivered a long and warm growing season allowing the berries to fully ripen and produced well balanced, elegant wines. This exceptional red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of 10% Merlot. Powerful and intense, it’s bursting with aromas and flavours of ripe dark berries. Firm tannins, starting to soften, impressive fruit density and a long, lingering finish. Try with a juicy, grilled steak and keep sipping after dinner with chunks of dark chocolate. Tasted June 2017. Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a blend of fruit from various Chateau Ste. Michelle sites; primarily Cold Creek and Horse Heaven Hills. Head Winemaker Bob Bertheau says the intent is to "showcase the power and richness of Washington fruit combined with Old World elegance". To say he has done this is an understatement.

Plenty of ripe fruit on the nose and palate; cherry, blackberry and cassis. Vanilla and spice add another level of richness. The addition of approximately 10% Merlot gives a smooth mouthfeel and dry tannins are balanced with a good backbone of acidity.

Complex, supple and elegant - New World meets Old World.

Tasted June 2017.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A bigger, sweeter, New World style of Cab Sauv, showcasing the power and rich flavours of Washington state fruit. Ripe, balanced wines were produced after the long, warm 2013 season. Grapes were destemmed and inoculated with strains of yeast in order to gain flavour complexity. Optimal flavours were also achieved by gentle daily pumpovers and tastings. Aged 22 mos. In French and American oak, 53% new. This Cab shows layers of ripe blueberry, with slight mint and vegetal aspects. Pairs well with roast pork or duck, as well as prime rib.
