Chateau Pey La Tour Reserve 2009 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 89/100This classic Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon delivers supreme value for the Bordeaux region where you'll be hard-pressed (no pun intended) to find this quality at this price point. Very balanced and elegant, yet full-bodied with dark fruit aromas and just enough toasty oak. Decant for an hour and it'll award you even more pleasure. Luscious Lamb Wine

My score is based on its structure and things to come. Muted on the nose in the glass so the bottle went through a double decant which was worthwhile, to separate the sediment that had formed. Benchmark Bordeaux aromas and full grippy tannins. The acidity is there to support cellaring this wine for a couple more years that it will be sure to benefit from. Glad I bought a second bottle!

This Bordeaux Superieur punches well above its classification with rich cassis fruit supported by hints of vanilla, violet and herb. Approachable tannins provide good structure, balanced alongside fresh acidity and a satisfying length. Perfect with stuffed blue cheese burgers. Enjoy through 2015. Tasted March 2014.
