Big and brooding with black fruit, smoke and tar. Good price for complex and balanced Bordeaux. Decant 2 hours and give it a few years in the cellar. Try it with filet mignon.

Meritage food pairings: duck in a red wine sauce, lamb burgers with blue cheese.

Winner of a Silver Medal at the 2012 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Mouth-watering aromas of chocolate cake, dark cherry, plum, crushed berries and woodsmoke. The palate is fleshy and mouthfilling, ripe and fruity with superbly positioned acidity and tannins providing support. A touch of mocha spice on the finish. From a stellar vintage, it is ready to drink now but will enchant through 2017. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, May 2013

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
