Rustic and full-bodied with aromas of cedar, wild black raspberries with a tart edge and lots of layers of great taste. Decanting for 1-2 hours will help smooth out this robust red. It would be terrific with hearty meat dishes.

Meritage food pairings: meat lasagna, beef stew.

Gold Medal winner at the 2011 Challenge International du Vin. The 2009 Bordeaux vintage continues to garner enthusiastic acclaim. This one features attractive aromas of blackberry, coffee bean, vanilla and sour cherry. Dry with fine fruit flavours replaying on the palate. The moderate tannins bring structure and elegance to the medium-bodied wine. Finishes long and strong. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, June 2012
