A blockbuster French red wine from the Bordeaux sub-appellation of Fronsac. Rustic, robust and bursting with wild black cherry, toasty oak, smoke, graphite, tar and cigar box. Decant 2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: grilled lamb chops, stuffed, baked breast of veal, boeuf bourguignon.

Reviews and Ratings

From Michel and Dany Rolland, famed Bordeaux winemakers. the 2005 Fontenil from Fronsac wine regions is deep purple with layers of ripe cherry and black fruit flavours that will do well to cellar for the next five to 10 years. Yes, it can handle the bottle age. This wine is dense with mouthfuls of fruit, balanced acidity and structured tannins. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
