Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Château Des Charmes Brut Methode Traditionelle (year is not displayed on the bottle) is composed of equal amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that was aged on lees for over 3 years using the traditional method. It has captivating aromas of lime, minerality and subtle lees on the nose and gooseberry and subtle raspberry on the palate. It is a medium bodied, lightly sweet, fruity wine; BALANCED with refreshing acidity, fine effervescence and a medium to long finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own; dink now-2018+. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended for its quality and value – excellent choice for the upcoming festivities. Tasted Nov/13.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Chateau des Charmes' non-vintage Brut traditional method sparkling wine, from the Niagara region in Ontario, is not only super tasty and affordable ($13.95 a half bottle, which is a fraction of what a similar size bottle of Champagne costs) but this demi-bouteille format is the perfect size when you're just looking for a nice glass or two of bubbly at the end of the day, or perhaps to kick-off a romantic meal or date night before you take that taxi downtown. Produced with similar expert craftmanship as Champagne is in France, this Brut is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that shows expressive Russet apples and freshly baked almond croissant on the nose and palate. A refreshing and creamy mousse provides great texture making this wine ideally suited for pairing with a wide range of foods from appetizers to five course meals. Enjoy this Spring with oysters on the half shell and just about anything you can imagine during your Sunday morning brunch. Tasted March 2017. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Mark Britton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a bone dry sparkling which is loaded with minerality. If you are looking for fruiit in you sparkling wine you won't find it here, but what you get is an extremely smooth wine that is an excellent food pairing option for seafood, cheese platters, or chicken.
