Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fragrant cassis and subtle spice on a fragrant nose. A complex palate with fruit, spice, oak and taught acidity. Multi-layered red fruit finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

I love this area of Bordeaux. Good value and approachable wines that are great for drinking young. Cherry, strawberry, black plum, floral, cassis, cloves with cedar and perfume additions on the palate. A decent vanilla finish. Medium acidity with youthful tannins.Drink now. Pair with game, rabbit stew, pot roast.
Tasted: April 2015
The vines for this well-priced Bordeaux red wine are planted in the stony soils of limestone and clay close to Saint-Émilion on the hillsides rather than on the plateau of the valley which is mostly gravel and clay. The 2010 vintage of the Château Bonnin Pichon was a strong one. - Community Wine Reviews
