CedarCreek Estate Winery Merlot 2009
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
CedarCreek Estate Winery Merlot 2009 Wine Review
A savoury red with nicely balanced acidity for food and luscious dark plum aromas. Satin smooth and full-bodied. A pleasantly bitter finish. This is a terrific price for a wine of such quality. 4.4/5 Merlot food pairings: grilled pork tenderloin.

|We left this Merlot in French oak barrels for 501 days so the tannins would get silky smooth. We smell both red and black currants and we taste more currants and chocolate.|
