Dark, rich and complex with black cherry liqueur concentration of flavour, yet it's dry. Great for hearty meat dishes. Terrific persistence of flavours on the finish with some mocha, raisin and espresso notes. Enjoy tonight. Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: aged cheeses, dark chocolate, beef, pizza, osso buco. Enchanting Feta Cheese Wine

Stephen Snell rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gift from neighbour for cutting grass.
Whether you're a seasoned oenophile or an enthusiastic beginner, this is a wine that will warmly put an arm around you and greet you like an old friend. Notes of chocolate, tar, smoke, black fruit, licorice and vanilla abound on the nose and palate. Wonderful integration of tannins, acidity and flavours. The finish is long and impressive. A great choice to accompany conversation. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Oct. 2012
