A gloriously rich port that makes a lovely after-dinner drink. Aromas of blackberry preserves and cassis. Great price for such quality. Enjoy it on its own or with nut-based desserts.

Tania Thomas CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This velvety Tawny comes from the famous Port House of Cálem situated across the river from the picturesque city of Oporto in Portugal. The House has been producing Port vines of superior quality since 1859. Their Special Reserve Tawny is bursting with aromas of dried figs and plums with a hint of spice and oak. It is nicely balanced with a smooth, velvety mouthful and a long, lingering nutty finish. My favourite guilty pleasure with the jar of Stilton....
Generous aromas and flavours of dried fruits, apple, fig, nuts, plum and spice with a touch of oak tracking along the edges and framing the whole very nicely. Closes with a lovely, long, nutty finish. A given as a pairing with Stilton - or, as a classy way to end a meal, why not try slightly chilling and serving it as an aperitif? Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
