Café Culture Pintoage 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Café Culture Pintoage 2008 Wine Review
South Africa's vineyards are mostly situated in the Western Cape near the coast. This is the southernmost tip of the African continent, and has Mediterranean-type climate with diverse soils perfectly suited to quality grape production. They were crushed and destalked and then the juice was fermented on skins. Juicy berry-cherry flavor with top notes of mocha and dark plums. Round, supple and plush. Delivers lots of pleasure. 4.4/5 Pintoage food pairings: lasagna, red meats, pasta dishes with a tomato sauce, chocolate, berry desserts.
