Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Wine Review
Truly one of Canada's benchmark wines. This glorious red is bursting with aromas of blackberry, tobacco and cassis. Bring on the layers of fleshy black plums to seduce you just before you surrender to a smoky finish. 4.6/5

concentrated, intense, brooding wine with a lashing of powerful fruit. Mulberries, tobacco and spice dominate the nose on this handsome charmer. Cassis and slight
leafy notes lead to a supple, sumptuous and vibrant palate. You will find classy depth, richness and length, all finely drawn with strong structure and balance. This
young red is already approachable, but will improve with bottle age.
