Plummy black cherry liqueur richness with a dark, brooding core of full-bodied flavour. Some terrific touches of smoke an dark spices on the finish. Supple and wonderful.

Amrita Roy reviewed this wine as follows:

Lighter than I thought, medium bodied but quite big on the palate. Dried red fruits, cherry skins, cedar, spices. I really enjoyed this but it was a little expensive for the taste. Very elegant.
This wine shows a dark plum core with a black cherry rim. It contains aromas of ripe black berries, along with plum and black pepper notes and a slight hint of vanilla and spice. The palate continues to show the plum and blackberry flavours along with smooth, elegant tannins and lively acidity. The wine has great length and balance, and decanting would only increase your enjoyment.
The grapes for this wine were harvested in October, 2007 from the Burrowing Owl Estate Vineyards. The fruit was de-stemmed and crushed into closed top stainless steel tanks and inoculated with our preferred yeast strains. The fermentation was approximately 20 days and remained on skins until the wine was pressed off and transferred into barrels for malolactic fermentation (MLF). At the conclusion of MLF, the wine was racked off of its lees and transferred back into a mixture of French, American, and Russian oak (25% new oak) barrels where it was aged with occasional rackings.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
