The 2011 vintage of the Reserva Sogevinus is a blockbuster Portuguese red wine. Black fruit and toasty oak on the finish. Good acidity for food. Full-bodied and a firm grip on the palate so decant 1-2 hours and pair with a hearty meat dish.

Food pairings: barbecued chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An elegant nose of ripe red fruit & vanilla with a palate showing red fruit, vanilla, oak, sweet spices and a long oaky red fruit finish.
This robust Portuguese wine is a blend of local and native grapes including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Although the Douro region of Portugal is better known for Port, the fortified, sweet dessert wine, those same grapes are being used to make terrific, full-bodied, dry red wine. The Burmester winery has been making wine since 1750. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
