Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tropical guava, coconut and caramel aromas and luscious flavours with satiny, full-bodied texture. Hint of lime on smooth finish.
Tasted June 2017
Boisset Collection. A medium to full-bodied Californian chardonnay with attractive notes of Asian pear and toasty oak. MINE: Buena Vista Winery was founded by Agoston Haraszthy in 1857 and has been forenamed as California's first premium winery and oldest commercial winery . Buena Vista is more than a century older than most of California's wine 'pioneers'. The name of winery means "good view" and that it certainly has. Today, the winery is owned by Boisset Family Estates, led by Jean-Charles Boisset, who purchased the winery and historic property in May 2011. The original hand-dug caves are still on site and have been reconstructed and reopened to view. OTHER: Buena Vista Winery was founded in 1857 - let that sink in - whereas most of the premium Californian wineries that are considered 'pioneers' were founded 100 years later. This fragrant, cool-climate Chardonnay offers impressive balance and freshness with bright fruit, citrus and spice. A great option for grilled seafood. Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Eric Asimov, The New York Times

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
