Beringer Vineyards Stone Cellars Merlot 2007
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Beringer Vineyards Stone Cellars Merlot 2007 Wine Review
Smooth and plummy with a lovely balance. Medium- to full-bodied, the delicious rip red concludes with a vanilla smoke finish. 4.4/5 Merlot food pairings: roast chicken, lasagna or pizza and pasta..

|The rich fruit flavors in this wine are concentrated but wonderfully|
balanced. It is full of ripe cherry and black stone fruit on the nose, along
with a hint of mint. The intense flavors of plum, blueberry and
blackberry are all enhanced by warm, brown spices that linger on the
finish. The Stone Cellars Merlot is perfect as a pre-dinner aperitif, as
well as an ideal match for a variety of rich dishes such as chili con carne
or pasta puttanesca.
