Beringer Vineyards Merlot 2005 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 88/100Vintages Wine Panel: Beringer selects the finest vineyard sites for this Napa Valley Merlot. They also blend in small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for added complexity and structure. The wine expresses rushes of black cherry and blackberry fruit, as well as notes of mocha and licorice, all tempered by a layer of supple tannins. It has an easygoing appeal that would be equally suited to an autumn barbecue or a formal dinner setting. My note: A plumy, dark berry-rich Merlot with a mocha-infused finish. Full-bodied and supple.
