This complex, subtle and full-bodied cabernet sauvignon has great elegance and a long finish. Dark fruit and smoke notes on this red wine, with lots of layers and great cellar potential. Superb craftsmanship. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: hearty meat dishes, hard cheese.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers CAPS Sommelier rated this wine as 97/100 with the following review:

I think this is probably the highest rating I have ever given a wine. I had the opportunity to taste this wine at a tasting, and had to ask for seconds... it was that good. Full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Napa Valley's great vineyards, this Reserve 2010 is dark, with expressive bold fruits and hints of smoke. I took a few minutes to just enjoy all the luscious aromas before enjoying the wine. Beautifully structured with soft tannins and a lingering finish, this is the definition of a treat wine. Goes with anything and everyone.
Jane Staples Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A red wine to savour, with its subdued and complex flavours of blueberry, black cherry, cassis, earth and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, velvety smooth mouthfeel. This would make a great gift for someone special.
The 2010 vintage grapes are sourced 66% from the St. Helena Home Ranch vineyard, 18% from the Chabot Vineyard, and the remainder from Beringer's vineyards in St. Helena, Rutherford and - Winery

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
