Arniston Bay Shiraz Merlot 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Arniston Bay Shiraz Merlot 2008 Wine Review
Juicy purple plums and dark berries in the glass with a tasty, full-bodied weight. Great for barbecues. 4.3/5 Shiraz Merlot food pairings: grilled steaks, roast beef, zesty pasta dishes, hearty soups, gourmet burgers.

|A medium-bodied wine with intense red colour. This Shiraz/Merlot (80%/20%)blend is generous and complex with aromas of black cherries and plums. Rich and dense, the complexity of the flavours plays out progressively, beginning with blackberry and plum and finishing with toasty cedar aromas.|
Tannins are ripe, juicy and delicate.
The small fishing village of Arniston, with its unspoiled coastline, white dunes and turquoise waters, is situated at the most southerly point of the African continent. It is best known today for its 200 year-old fisherman’s village, Kassiesbaai. The village is a national monument and its whitewashed, thatched cottages have stolen the hearts of many artists and photographers.
