Vintages Wine Panel: A Silver Medal winner at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2008. Made with hand-harvested and -sorted grapes, this Reserva displays classic Carmenère aromas of blackberries with notes of spice, vanilla and cacao. The complex aromas ring clearly on the well-balanced palate and linger awhile on the finish. Try it with a medium-rare peppercorn steak, braised duck breast with a Bing cherry sauce, or an aged firm cheese like Gruyère. My note: A full-bodied red with alluring notes of black plum and blackberry. Polished tannins and a smooth texture. Nice, warm finish for such an incredibly affordable wine. Reserva Carménère food pairings: Irish stew, bison, black pudding, hamburgers.
