Barbecue Turkey Burgers

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup barbecue sauce, divided
1 tbsp dried breadcrumbs
2 tsp prepared mustard
3/4 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
pinch of salt
1 pound ground turkey
cooking spray
4 large leaves of lettuce (washed and patted dry)
4 slices of tomato (washed and dried)
4 whole grain hamburger buns (split)

Instructions:

-Combine onion, 2 tbsp of barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs and next 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. Divide turkey mixture into 4 equal portions, shape into 1 1/2 inch thick patties.

-Heat a grill coated with cooking spray, over medium heat.

-Place patties on heated grill, cook 7-10 minutes on each side.

-Place one leaf, one tomato slice and one patty on each bun.

-Spread each patty with 1 teaspoon or so, barbecue sauce.

-Top with other half of bun and enjoy.
