Joseph Cattin Hatschbourg Gewurztraminer 2010, A.C., Alsace Grand Cru, France: Lychee, rose petal and baking spices on the nose. Mouth-watering acidity is terrific for Asian and spicy dishes. Very distinctive and aromatic. Full-bodied with lots of layers. Luscious with a finish that leaves you longing for more. Highly recommended. Wither Hills Rarangi Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: One of my favourite New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs year after year! It's herbal but not too grassy with a lovely lime lift through the mid-palate and finish. Crisp and refreshing. This would be perfect with seafood and light-hearted conversation.
