Viña Casablanca El Bosque Winemaker's Choice Syrah 2008, Rapel Valley, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: Sourced from the Rapel Valley, this Chilean Syrah is aiming more for the Rhône than Australian style. This charmer features aromas of pepper, blackberry and underbrush with only a hint of New World big ripeness. Enjoy this fine wine around the barbecue. This winery is certified Carbon Neutral. My note: Fantastic delicious at a ridiculously low price! Love this: it’s got all the power and lusciousness of New World fruit but it’s balanced and has great length on the finish too. What more could you want except a case of it? 46276 14.50% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 90/100. July 10, 2010 Full Review

Perrin & Fils Les Sinards Syrah Blend 2007, A.C., Châteauneuf-Du-Pape, Rhône, France: Pure black cherry liqueur in concentration and flavour. Rich, robust and layered. Full-bodied doesn’t begin to describe it for those who love a full-palate wallop. This one will age well in the cellar. This half-size bottle will mature faster than the 750 mL bottle that he’s referring to – 6-8 years is probably more accurate. It’s part of the Vintages Essentials Collection. La Crema Pinot Noir 2008, Sonoma Coast, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: We’re in good hands here because, for more than 30 years, La Crema has specialized in producing exceptional Pinot Noirs from the cool Sonoma Coast. Look for soft cherry, spice and herbal flavours and aromas in this velvety Pinot courtesy of winemaker Melissa Stackhouse. Perfect for a cozy evening meal. My note: I adore this Pinot and often order it when I see it on a restaurant list. It delivers so much pleasure and really, asks so little of you other than to sit back and enjoy it.
