Jackson-Triggs Grand Reserve Shiraz 2010, VQA, Niagara, Ontario, Canada: Jumps out of the glass with brooding black fruit and black pepper. Full-bodied, supple and smooth. This is an incredibly concentrated and delicious wine. Loaded with flavours that persist on a long finish. Highly recommended. A stunningly great price. Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery Robert's Block Riesling 2009, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario VQA, Canada: Vintages Wine Panel: Robert’s Block is named for Sue-Ann Staff’s great-great-great-grandfather, Robert Staff, who was the original settler on the property 200 years ago. The Riesling is the oldest block at 14 years of age. My note: Bone-dry and lovely with aromas of lemon, flint, lime and white peach. Mouth-watering and endlessly delicious. One bottle is not enough. The Chardonnay was fermented half in stainless steel and half in 30% new oak, then the oak-fermented portion went through malolactic fermentation to give a creamier mouth-feel.
