Mas des Bressades Cuvée Tradition Blanc Cyril Marès, Vign. 2012, Costières De Nîmes, Rhone, France: Dry, crisp and clean and excellently priced! If you like pinot grigio, give this white a try. Some terrific floral notes on the finish. In the early twentieth-century, the Marès family started making wine in Algeria, but later moved to Bordeaux to start Château Puy Castéra and then on to the Rhone in the Costières de Nîmes region for this coveted winery. Riondo Castelforte Garganega 2013, Veneto I.G.T., Italy: Light aromas of lime blossom, yet dry. Great aperitif or companion to mild curries and lightly spiced dishes. Medium-bodied. The lesser known Veneto Garganega grape is often overshadowed by Pinot Grigio, but is well worth exploring for both taste and value. Lovely crisp lime lift on the mid-palate and finish. Coppi Peucetico Primitivo 2008, Gioia Del Colle, Puglia, Italy: Deep plushly ripe purple and black plum aromas on the nose with some blueberry jam on the palate. It's full-bodied and dry with layers of voluptuous dark fruit. Perfect for meat lovers' pizza and meat sauce pasta. This Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) offers dark spice and vanilla smoke on the finish. Gioia del Colle is nestled in the centre of the Puglia region and is known as the Italian heart of Primitivo. In the 1700s, a local priest named these grapes with a Latin word, Primitivo, which means "first to ripen." Pair with bolognese or salami and charcuterie . Porcupine Ridge Boekenhoutskloof Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Western Cape W.O., South Africa: Grassy, herbal refreshment with a medium-bodied weight. Stunningly great price. South Africa does so well with Sauvignon Blanc, and it shows in this wine. Lots of mouth-watering acidity. Pair with vegetarian dishes, seafood and grilled portobello mushroom. The vines for this full-bodied red wine are grown at a high altitude of 825 metres above sea level on ungrafted vines which imparts both intensity and balance. Rio Madre Graciano 2014, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: A terrific, full-bodied red wine at a staggeringly great price! This is a DOCA wine and is produced by Bodegas Y Vinedos Ilurce. Loaded with black pepper, fleshy dark fruit, mouth-watering action and layers of lip-smacking flavours. This wine was matured in French oak and made from 100% Graciano, a native Spanish grape enjoying a resurgence in popularity. This is modern and complex Rioja red wine. Pair with lamb and rosemary.
