Michel Torino Don David Reserve Bodega El Esteco Malbec 2009, Cafayate Valley, Salta, Argentina: Vintages Wine Panel: Michel Torino has built a solid reputation for producing consistently high-quality Malbec in the Cafayate region in northern Argentina. Some of this up-and-coming region’s vineyards are planted at the highest elevations in the world for viticulture. This juicy wine is bursting with blackberry and other ripe dark fruits, balanced by toasty oak, ripe acidity and friendly tannins. Should drink well over the next 3 years. My note: Especially gorgeous for the price: this has to be an inventory pricing error! This is my new party wine. Wow. Benjamin Bridge Nova 7 2013, Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada: This lovely honeysuckle, apple blossom pleasure is never cloyingly sweet. It's also just slightly effervescent, enough spritz to make it refreshing and give a zip to your palate. It's a lovely pairing for the Canadian Feta Apetina, which can be crumbled by hand and is divine with virgin olive oil and some herbs. Benjamin Bridge finishes with pretty floral notes and white peaches basking in Annapolis Valley sunshine. Perfect as an after-dinner drink on its own when you don't want anything heavy, or pair it with a fruit-based dessert like fresh peaches and cream. Montes Limited Selection Pinot Noir 2011, Casablanca Valley, Chile: A terrific pinot noir, especially at this price point. Vibrant notes of sweet fleshy ripe cherries and raspberries. Smooth and medium- to full-bodied. Delicious! Perfect for movie night and casual get-togethers. Lovely long finish with spices and dark cherry. A value wine from truly one of Chile's best producers. Remarkably, it won the Gold Medal at the prestigious competition, Concours Général Agricole in 2012 in Paris. Talamonti Tre Saggi Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2011, Abruzzo D.O.C., Italy: Tre Saggi translates to "three wise men" and both wise men and women will be smart to try this wine. Rich, dark and savoury with black cherries and smoke and lots of mocha and sweet chocolate notes. Full-bodied and luxuriously thick like a comforting blanket you wrap closer to you on a chilly night under a starry sky by the campfire. Great structure and balance. An elegant dinner party wine that won’t cost a fortune. Plus the label looks like it cost twice as much as you paid for it ;)  Great spice and smoke notes on the finish.
