An exceptional tasting experience of this legendary iconic Australian wine. Decanted one hour. Nose was full of rich Port notes, layers of sweet dark fruits, baking spice, dark chocolate, espresso, and vanilla. Bitter dry palate that did not match the abundant sweet aromas in the nose. Tart dark berries, savory notes, and a pile of fine integrated tannins. Recommend pairing with a fine cut of braised beef with a red wine reduction. At $500, this makes a terrific celebratory wine for a very special occasion. Drink now or cellar for 15+ years. Tasted November 2012.
