Julia Kelada rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

You will never believe this! I bought a wine for $14.55. I stared at my Sommelier in disbelief when he told me that i absolutely must try it.....he won! I bought it!
My Portuguese husband was insistent on having bbq'd sardines for supper, even though it was the midst of winter and blowing a gale. My sommelier said this wine would not dissapoint, and as any of you who now know my tastes by now... I KNEW I was going to hate it!
WRONG!!!!! let me give you my translation for wow... I would pay more for this wine and not be dissapointed! So this wine is a wow!

Airing on the side of caution....no punn intended....I aired the wine in a decanter for 2 hours before I was going to taste it.

The time arrived and I poured my first glass. The colour was a surprisingly deep purple.
On the nose there was intense chocolate......my attention had been caught! There was a deliciously mellow vanilla presence followed by rich black fruits, blueberries, black cherries and even a mild hint of nutmeg.
On the palate there was a smooth chocolate deliverance with low acidity and a good dry mouth. The fruits stepped forwards with plums, figs and cherries and then gently slid into a presence of vanilla. The wine slowly introduced a subtle leathery, spicey finish with wondrous long tannins!
And all this for that price.....yup, hubby ran back to the store to stock up!

Bottoms up!
