This Grand Cru (Erste Lagen) Grüner Veltliner is unique in the fact that it was aged 1 year in oak barriques, and benefits from decanting. Due to the oak the apple notes take on a more yellow aroma and less of the racy green apple so commonly found in Grüner Veltliner. yet it is still full of vibrant juicy tones and the white pepper note persists right through the finish. A great amigo to many dishes, but my favourite with this wine is an arugula salad with feta cheese, pomegranate seeds and walnuts.
