Tasting Note: Vintages Wine Panel: The vineyards of Sonoma Coast have a long, cool, even-keeled growing season. Fog and winds from the nearby Pacific Ocean moderate temperatures throughout the growing season leading to an ideal slow-ripening process. The autumn is extended and the increased hang time results in highly concentrated aromas and flavours (apple, pear, citrus and vanilla amongst them) and crisp acids. La Crema ages this wine in a combination of both new and seasoned French and American oak for seven months, lending the wine a pretty smoky/oaky flavour. My note: Big, round and lovely with butterscotch, smoke, green apples and peach.
Food matches: pork roast, stuffed roasted chicken
More pairings: chicken: mourgh: Afghan, chili, Coeur de ThiƩrache, salad: chef, sauce: butter, beurre blanc, sole: Dover: grilled, turkey: dark meat.
