A scintillating Saint Chinian loaded with red and black briars, crushed rock, crushed purple flowers, garrigue and molten black liquorice. 93 Points.

Terravinum Reserve

Lammershoek Terravinum Reserve Chenin Blanc 2016

Swartland W.O., South Africa

Andrew scored this wine: 91/100

This is an absolute gem of a chenin, with loads of lemon and lime built on a white stone fruit, cut hay, lanolin and appley core. There is body to this wine, and easily matches or surpasses it’s Loire adversaries, and almost comes across as Chablis-like (good Chablis). Drink slightly less chilled than you think. 91 Points.

Langhe DOC Rosso

Pelissero Langhe DOC Rosso Long Now 2016

Piedmont, Italy

Andrew scored this wine: 97/100

Consumed in 2021, this wine could still last several more decades. A blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo, it’s inky purple, with dusty black cherries and plums, along with toast, dried herbs, black liquorice and hints of roasted chestnut. It’s a stunning wine that has truly stood the test of time. Enthralling. 97 Points.

Aldeasoña 2006

Viño De La Tierra De Castilla Y León, Spain

Andrew scored this wine: 93/100

This is a striking offering. It oozes varietal character and despite being 15 years old, has kept its luxurious, silky texture and freshness. Blackberry, black plum skin, and black cherry riff off of fresh and dried tobacco, fresh herbs, black licorice and sarsaparilla root. Could easily last another decade. 93 Points.

Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem

M. Chapoutier Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem 2016

Côtes Du Roussillon-Villages Latour-De-France, Roussillon A.C., France

Andrew scored this wine: 94/100

Easily one of the best offerings in all of southern France year in and year out. The 2015 is a monster, oozing ripe plum, cassis and cherry liqueur. There’s lots of fresh and dried herbs along with hung game and warm spice. 94 Pointa.
