I tried Apothic Red 2012 from California this Friday...Halloween! I looked forward to a night of trick-or-treaters then cuddling up & watching a romantic film (I don't do scary...not even on Halloween)...But...I only had one little Batman at my door and before I had a chance to set up Love Actually, "extended club" (I'll explain that another time) showed up at my house. It was a fun filled, silly night, turns out just what I needed! The Apothic Red was a good wine, full bodied & smooth but a little too fruity for my taste. I would like to try it again though with a meal.

Tonight was a great night. I made salmon on the BBQ with wild rice and a Greek salad, it was delicious! The best part though was just as I brought the salmon inside it started to rain, a storm, thunder, lightening, the works! We opened a bottle of Inspiracion Valedmar 2010 from Spain and watched the storm while having dinner. I did enjoy this wine, it was full and smooth and delicious but more than anything it will always be the wine that reminds me of a very beautiful stormy night.

Mmmmmm...I loved this wine! Stirling Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. Rich, deep, smooth, velvety. I would love to say something sophisticated and knowledgable like "a hint of barnyard", I read that somewhere, but I don't know what it means and It doesn't sound very appetizing. All I know is that this is my favourite wine so far. I think il have another glass with a baguette and some Brie and finally watch my Rom Com. I'm embarrassed at how excited I am about this. Sona

My week was crazy. All I wanted to do is go home and relax with a glass of Irony and watch a Rom Com I've seen a dozen times. Instead a few friends popped in unexpectedly. We shared the Irony Small Lot Reserve Merlot and the hummus I had planned to indulge in, and laughed all night. It was a great night. The Irony blended in nicely with the atmosphere but it didn't stand out, which is OK. It's not always necessary to be a star. Although, for the price I expected a little more. I'm going to say I liked it, but in lower case. Sona

Hi Everybody, I'm excited/nervous to participate in Natalie's wine reviews. I love wine but I'm not a connoisseur. So until I get the hang of this review process I'll keep it short and sweet, I like it or I do not. That's it, nothing foo foo. For my first review I tried Sledgehammer Cabernet Sauvignon from California. We had it with chocolate raspberry truffle cake for my husband's birthday. The combination of the dark chocolate with the rich red wine was so delicious I almost wept with joy. The next time we had Sledgehammer was with a steak dinner, also very good, but it's always the chocolate that makes me weep. This is a rich, smooth, delicious wine. I LIKE IT! Check out my blog isheaso.com. I would love your input. Cheers, Sona
