After having tasted the 1998 and 2001 Ornellaia, the 2005 Ornellaia is noticeably the most fruit forward of the above mentioned. On the palate, it has flavours of dusty red and black fruit with a bit of heat on the finish. Overall, a wonderfully balanced wine and would pair well with any carnivorous meal.

A creamy caramel profile on the nose. It appears to be dark ruby red in colour. The 2001 vintage is deliciously round and full in the mouth with a pleasantly pungent dark fruit flavour. A superb gift for the holidays. Love. Love. Love.

On the nose, it has a hint of smoked chocolate reminiscent of a campfire smore. On the palate it has an herbaceous undertone and lingers in the mouth. Very drinkable now and would pair perfectly with filet mignon.
